PAX 2011: The press round-up

09/01/11

While it’s difficult for us to come to terms with the fact that we’ll have to wait another year until PAX Prime is here again, we’re spending plenty of time reflecting on the good times that were shared with each and every outstanding citizen that made their way to our booth. Among those folks were some esteemed members of the press core, many of whom took time out of their busy days to tell the world just what they thought of Gotham City Impostors.

We were pleased as punch to discover a lot of these stories popping up all over the Internet, and we want to share them with you! So, if you weren’t able to make the show and are wondering what the critics think of us, or if you’re just looking for a great read on a sunny afternoon, peruse the following links with us, won’t you?

GamesRadar: “Gotham City Impostors plays and looks so impressively, I almost forgot it was a downloadable title. That’s undoubtedly due to being developed by Monolith Productions, the team behind the F.E.A.R. and Condemned franchises. However, a more notable pedigree is they also made No One Lives Forever, one of the very few truly funny games ever to be released.

Destructoid: ...Monolith seems on the right track towards offering up a wild, fun multiplayer alternative.

FPS Guru: “...solid controls and smooth game play, mixed with a sense of humor and an insane amount of character customization, gives Gotham City Impostors an addictive quality that rivals most hard drugs.” Note: Gotham City Impostors was awarded the "Biggest Surprise" award for PAX Prime 2011 by FPS Guru!

GamerLive.TV: “It's got Monolith written all over it, with precision first-person shooting controls, good looking visuals (it runs at a solid 30 frames per second) and good speed, as the game didn't have any lag at all running over Xbox Live. (Same should go for PlayStation Network.)

GameZone: “Up until now, I didn’t know what to expect from the Gotham City Impostors in terms of gameplay, but after my first match I can safely say that it’s a hell of a fun play.

GameSpot: A video interview with our very own Craig Hubbard!

GameFront: “I actually managed to wrack up the most kills on my team and lead us to victory. The opposing team of PAX attendees didn’t look up very often and I was able to effectively stalk them from the rooftops. The fact that they were wearing brightly colored clown outfits also didn’t help.

And sadly, that’s it from PAX Prime 2011. Did you have any of your own impressions of Gotham City Impostors from PAX? Then come tell us in our forums!
