well i just blasted someone that was rocken kinda bulletproof and got orange numbers. so it is, as far as i can tell, unblockable. however i'm a ps3 player so i don't know if the sword can block it.
i really like this gun. once you get used to its nuances, you'll get gold in no time. there are a few tricks to using it well. only two i'll offer now is try for 1 full charge then just rapid fire it. dont aim with it, always fire from the hip. it will nail whatever the dot is on.
one thing i noticed, it does a wider AoE if you hit a player rather than aiming at the ground. its splash damage isn't like explosive weapons.
personally i think the DF is fine. its a different weapon that requires a different approach to combat. any adjustments that would make it easier to use will only make it OP.
This has been Jack Ryder, and you are wrong!
I'm sorry, but it's just gotten absurd.
Running Nimble, the second fastest body type physically touched by a mighty from behind via dive bomb? Mighty, the supposedly king of slow, the slowest body type in the game not only caught up with the second fastest body type in the game, but slammed his fat gut into her?
Of course, it was a OHKO. I should know, it's happened to me. I had L3 pressed, my gun lowered, everything.
TL;DR: Mighty Divebombed a -running/sprinting- nimble from behind. Da fark??

Honestly, after reading a bunch of these posts, I feel that a lot of people just lack skill and strategy.
I'm not saying this to be insulting, but I play this on the PS3 (maybe different for the other platforms), but the one thing I really notice is that nobody aims for the head. I play both Mighty and Speed as my two main builds.
I use speedy for Psycho Warfare and Mighty for TDM and I mix between the two in Fumigation depending on the builds I'm up against.
Mighty is such a huge target and even with the less damage from head shots perk, they can be easily dealt with even with speedy. Move around and shoot for the head. I use gate keeper and shotgun with my speedy type. I also use glider rig and skates for him depending on my mood. However, Glider rig you can just use the attack to move faster (probably why one of you complaining about being hit by a Mighty when you were running with Nimble and got hit...he could have taken the quicker route and was chasing you down for a bit with the attack with the glider rig).
Mighty I use for health, I use the Jackhammer and Partisan with him. You really just need to know how to aim. I have yet to use a weapon in this game where with a few bursts to the head didn't pop them, regardless of body type (outside of DF). Partisan w/ laser scope is amazing at this, and Jackhammer close up can pop somebody in a second if you aim correctly. Shredder I feel is actually a better gun than the Jackhammer for this since it has a much higher rate of fire. I also use the glider rig with my Mighty to make up for his lack of speed and use the glider rig attack to get him farther when I have to (like to defend a fumigation point). However, I'm easily dealt with if I get the jump on from a Speedy with a penetrator shotgun (like I use) or someone who is slick with the hatchet. Hatchet players are so good it's unreal, I love playing against them. Speedy + hatchet mastery I would say is way dirtier than any Mighty could be, and I've encountered them and they've really given me a run for my money.
I've noticed on the PS3 platform that nearly nobody goes for head shots, and that's where you will obviously do the most damage. Like I said, any weapon can pop someone real quick if you aim for the head. The partisan and the hunstman are proof of that, and rightfully so, they are rifles.
There is a counter for EVERYTHING in this game, but it really just seems like a lot of people here aren't used to actually mixing strategy with skill, and this game enables you to have a lot of strategies to utilize.
Make use of your custom slots and make builds that both compliment your play styles and counter other builds that you see a lot in certain game modes. This isn't COD, strategize.
You don't think this might be because the ones using it are more likely to find flaws with it than the people who only find it overpowered because they keep getting killed by it?
While I agree that jackhammer users had an advantage when the game came out it is fine as it is now, it's nigh impossible to hit anything mid to long range and if enemies come too close the shotgun is better, it has found its niche.
There's a bug that causes some headshots (about 1/10, I'd say from experience) to not register. And with no other weapon is it more apparent than with the Bear Stalker. The evidence....is right on their face lol. I'm sure this is attributed to lag, but with bullets, I can always pretend I somehow missed. But not when there's an arrow sticking out of your eye
Also, the Shuriken can block your view pretty well. I've had a Shuriken block more than 1/2 my screen once. That was annoying... thankfully it ended quickly as I died from a guy just standing in my blind spot lol
Too busy with Dark Souls right now...

Small body types with rollerscaters+katana. I mean they are really fast and swinging those katanas all the time. LAG makes them so annoying. I get killed by KATANA from 2-4meters. The faster they move the harder it is to hit them because of the lag. I mean seriously it was getting out of hand today.
IT also annoying that when you finally hit someone with the freezegun they don't take any damage. You see that flashing effect but not the numbers...
Why is this game always so laggy. There is no way to properly know which weapons are good when you are just randomly hitting people.
I just played some Tribes Ascends and that game has more players and it's much smoother experience...
So you're one of the few mightys that don't have hard target on? Ya know the a fun fact that negates the extra damage received form a headshot?
The headshot argument isn't even worth making, honestly.
I'm not dense. Going for the head may not be hard, but it's often not even worth extra effort.
And yeah, there's the hatchet, but odds are good if the light build is seen first, then they'll be shot dead before they can even ready the hatchet to be thrown.
If we sneak up on a mighty, we can do basically whatever we want to kill a mighty, but the same can be said either way.
