Re: FOUND A FIX for low FPS on PC!

Same here. I tried both fixes. No luck. It fixes maybe the first match by a LITTLE then goes right back to being un-playable.

Nothing worked..getting kinda frustrated.. =\ I mean, I understand that most games that are fresh off the boat aren't 100% but this is a HUGE issue to have overlooked somehow..

It goes back, but restart your game fromt he imposteres.exe in your steam folder, then re-set your priority to high. will work fine again.

Re: FOUND A FIX for low FPS on PC!

    Hey guys,

Here is what I did to fix this issue on my PC with a 5870.

    1. First, open your video card utility (Catalyst Control Center for ATI, Nvidia System Tools for Nvidia), and make sure that "Use application settings" is enabled for Anti-aliasing, Ansiotropic Filtering, and Wait for Vertical Sync. This makes sure that your video card utility and the game don't have any conflicts for these settings.

After checking these, relaunch the game and see if your FPS improves. I used the challenge maps for testing since it's instant.

    2. If your FPS is still low, open the Video Settings screen from the main options menu and click Advanced settings. Switch "Sound Quantity Limit" to minimum. Press escape so that the game saves your settings, and then exit the game and relaunch it entirely.

Try the challenge map again and see if your FPS improves.

    3. If your FPS is still low, exit the game and try launching the game directly from your steam directory. This will be 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\gotham city impostors' by default (or just plain old Program Files, not Program Files (x86), for 32 bit operating systems). Try launching the Impostors.exe file in this folder and see if your FPS improves. This launches without the Steam overlay and I saw a noticeable improvement after making the above changes.

    Hope this helps!

    Windows 7 (64-bit)
    AMD Athlon II X3 450 Processor (3 CPUs) 3.2GHz
    6GB RAM
    ATI Radeon HD 5770

Thokal's fixes made challenges a bit better, but not multiplayer.
