Public beta is here! Let us give you the details.

We’ve heard talk that you want to play in Gotham City Impostors public beta. And you know what? We want you to play in it too! While we can’t make any promises on whether or not you’ll be able to get in (there are a limited number of keys, after all), we’re going to give you every possible opportunity to grab a key. Why? Because you’ve been loyal to us, and damn it, we’re loyal to you.

So, here’s the skinny. If your platform of choice is the PlayStation 3 you can go download the beta tomorrow, Tuesday the 24th, at 2PM PST on the PlayStation Network with no key required. Yes, that’s right, there’s absolutely no key required! Go download it, be merry, and then use your Jackhammer on anyone foolish enough to stand on the business end of your kill cannon.

If your platform of choice is the Xbox 360, things are going to work a little differently. First, make sure to enter to join our beta right here. We’ll email you your code, as well as download instructions very soon. Or, if you’re a subscriber to IGN Prime you can go and get a key through that service, and you can do so starting tomorrow (or today, depending on when the post goes live). Be quick about it though, because they’ll only have a limited number of keys to distribute!

Oh, and if you played in any previous rounds of beta tests that were on the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, then the Impostors beta you’ve got is good for this round of testing as well. Worst case scenario is that you’re going to have to download a patch. (And no, there won’t be any new progression ranks. Sorry!)

The Gotham City Impostors beta is now live on the US and EU PSN.

In order to download the Gotham City Impostors beta on your PlayStation 3, complete the following steps:

1. Create a PlayStation® Network Account (or log in using an existing PlayStation® Network account)
2. From the PlayStation® Network icon on the XMB, select the PlayStation® Store
3. Search for "Gotham City Impostors" (or just "Gotham", as this has worked better for some individuals) and follow instructions to download; no special code required!

Xbox 360 gamers, your codes should have arrived on 1/26/2012. If you don't have one yet, make sure to sign-up for one right here!

Just gotta be a little picky but does that mean for those that played the beta from eurogamer or gamespot are ranks get resetted or we will be at the same rank?
