Interesting topic but not a GCI vid:

Wasn't sure where to put this actually, please dont anyone be annyoed with me if its in the wrong place

I'd been hearing it a few times lately off mates: 'I 'need' to grind x out for the trophy',

There was a discussion (I think by MAck?) about do we grind out guns for the master of and then never use it again?

Igot to thinking of all the arbitary goals thatdevs put in games, GCI certainly has it's fair share of them, but is obviously not alone.

So, what motivates us in games, the journey, or a series of destinations? Here's my thoughts:

youre lucky i like you, cos that was 13 minutes long and i watched the whole thing

yeah i get addicted to the grind for getting all the stuff mastered and unlocked, but its really sad that i work so long to get an awesome background, and then never put it on. i have like 25 super rare ones and they never see the light of day

my ultimate goal is to get all cards symbols and catchphrases completed. have every single slot filled. i like the sense of accomplishment i get when i complete stuff like this, although ive never tried to go platinum trophies, i like unlocking stuff like the cards, just like in mw2 i spent a bazillion ****ing hours mastering all four sniper rifles. getting those 1000 headshots took forever man. forever. but i did it and i brag about it to this day. and it was a grind and a chore, but i really enjoyed it, i got so good at sniping that i got 1000 pavelow kills which i never thought id get, even called in a few nukes. its the journey and the destination

im not rereading this but im fairly sure it doesnt make sense. alas
