Re: Anyone have advice for not raging?

How long do you play before the urge to rage surfaces? What is it that causes the aggravation? I tend to get a little jittery and anxious if I play to long because of the chaotic overload on my senses. I usually limit my play time to 2 hrs. max unless things start to grind my nads sooner then I exit the game and go do something else for a while and come back to it later if I feel like it. It's supposed to be fun and if your not really enjoying it because of rage why continue to play.

The game is far too goofy to rage at really unless you're someone who tries really hard to keep a good kill death. Just play for fun and try out things you haven't used much you might find a setup you really like.

It depends. But if my kill to death ratio goes negative, breaks even or is just barely positive there's a better than average chance I'll get upset over it. Time doesn't seem to have as much to do with it as how well the game's going for me. Though I often have little "mini-rages" even during my best games, like when I get killed very early on in a game I'll spurt out a random assortment of profanities before cooling down again.

Sounds like your being to hard on yourself. Someone else posted in this thread that, “Poor performance in a game doesn't reflect your worth as a person”, that's a good thing to remember. Also, don't take the game to serious, it's just a game. Everyone has their mini-rage moments when annoying things happen during a game. Just so long as your not throwing your controller and yelling at family members, that would just be wrong.

I just get high, but i don't condone this for all, helps me not rage at players, I do get frustrated at times, but more so by the occasional SERVER DISCONNECT during an awesome match than ever at players.
I cheer them on sarcastically or positively. (unless their spamming Mighty Divers/ or TD while you just can't get a kill in)
I find it fun to problem solve solutions for the camping snipers & motivators. It overjoys me to see their body fall after practically sniping them back from around a corner or the most inconceivable angle.

But in the end I rather see a match to the end over pull the plug and decrease the chance of my team not getting a come back.
I don't rage for you guys.. I do it all for you!
THIS BUSINESS BAT WANTS TO BLAST SOME RAINBOW JUNCTION ALL OVER THE PLACE!

It seems that server chooses to disconnect whenever a game is shaping up to be the best for me. I know your pain very well.

That has happened to me several times. I also hate it when you have a great match with a good group of players and then you get kicked out of the proceeding lobby or it reforms with a different group. Those are definitely times when I can feel the anger start to rise.

It happens, we all get mad at some point.....when it happens to me I just play something else or do something else for a while....don't be so embarrassed, really none of these people know you and if a rage quit is enough for someone to judge your personality then they probably not worth your time anyway
