    Cannot Download Update from GFWL

Hello. I've recently bought this game and I was instantly hit with update problems. Whenever I try to download the update, GFWL disconnects me and gives me this error:

I have open the ports required for GFWL, and I have also updated GFWL to the latest version as well. I bought the game off of Impulse (I seriously hope this isn't the problem). I searched to see if anyone else here had the same problem. Unfortunately, none of them currently had a solution. If there's any other information that I could provide to help solve this I'd be more than happy to comply.

Re: Cannot Download Update from GFWL

the 0x80004005 error seems to be tied to DLL errors. It's possible that the game client itself is causing the issue. However, lets go ahead and assume that its an issue with the GFWL install.

    Try this:
    1. Uninstall GFWL
    2. Navigate to your System folder (32-bit systems: C:\WINDOWS\system32 64-bit systems: C:\WINDOWS\system64)

remove the following if they remain:
    - xlive folder
    - xlive.dll
    - xlive.dll.cat
    - xlive.pdb
    - xlivefnt.dll
Be very careful and don't remove anything else here

    3. Install the latest GFWL client: Here
    4. Try relaunching the game.
    5. If that doesnt resolve the issue try and reinstall Impostors.
    6. If that still doesnt resolve the problem try turning off your anti virus software/firewall while launching the game.

If any of those things work for you please let me know. Thanks for your patience!

I had this problem with the patch before this one. I think I solved it by running GCI as a user instead of "run as administrator" (I use Vista).

in theory the xlive.dll would be all you would need to remove (if its left over after uninstalling GFWL) However it seems like there may be more going on here. Seems like it's still mostly a GFWL problem, we'll keep looking in to it and see if we can't figure something out.

I have the same problem, I've removed and reinstalled GFWL, but to no avail. I also have all required ports forwarded.
    (Win7 64bit, GCI via Gamestop)

Earlier when GFWL screwed me over I had to go to xboxlive.com and accept the new EULA, but not this time.
If GFWL had their **** together like Steam I wouldn't mind the forced updates, but this piece of **** has never worked for me at once, there's always some almost inconceivable thing you have to do to get it to work...
As you may have guessed, I don't rly like GFWL (or should I say XBOXlive).
