Connection issues? POST HERE!

First I’d like to say…what a wonderfully fun game this is. I LOVE IT! I’ve had a blast playing, and in a world of “real” war FPS’s that take themselves too seriously, Gotham City Imposters is a breath of fresh air! Thank you for creating this game.



I can actually get in and play games, but I’ve been plagued with intermittent connection issues. I’ll list my information below. Though I’ve been disconnected a couple of times, most of the time once the games starts, I stay connected for that game. However, I’ve noticed that I can’t seem to stay connected for 2 games in a row. Once I get back to the lobby, I typically get disconnected sometime before the next game actually starts, including at the point where I’m in the game, looking at my character, but the match hasn’t started yet (I guess at this point it's waiting for the other players to join). I typically play by myself, but I tried partying last night as the party leader and it was a disaster. I couldn’t talk to my other party member (I only had one other person in the party with me). For a couple of the games, we were put on different teams, and it seemed to take a significant amount of time to find matches or even leave matchmaking to re-enter. There seems to be no pattern as to when I get disconnected. It can happen at any moment from the time I join matchmaking until I get to the point in the game where I can actually start moving around, though it has disconnected a couple of times after the game has started. I’ve also been in games where the lobby was full, but when I got in the game, there were only a couple of us, and on one occasion, I was the only player. It seems to take quite a bit of time to find matches, launch games, query servers. And a few times it took upwards of 5 or 6 minutes to leave match making. Any help you could give me would be appreciated greatly. I love this game when I can play.

I call BS you are not hard at work to fix this, i have done every thing in my power to stop the connection failures and lag. my internet company says its the game that it isint my internet connection. FIX THIS ASAP, or at least let us know when you will fix it.

Im guessing that the PC version is currently unplayable. I was finding and connecting to TDM games perfectly fine a few days ago. Now all I get is the Connection Failed message. I know its not my internet, its the games servers!!

Is this going to be fixed anytime soon?

This game does not work with anything but NAT1 direct to Modem for me. Error on matchmaking every time. Forwarding ports is not an option and should never be. It's a poor excuse.

Same on PS3.

Surboard modem and belkin router from walmart hooked up wired in all cases. NAT2 simply does not work. Win 7 64 and PS3 latest slim.

Same for me, weird thing is i can only play in the mornings and 19 times out of 20 it just gives me the Connection failes error message, and suddenly one day it went through ... makes no sense. I can do challenges fine, it's just multiplayer games i simply having a real hard time getting connected to

I would really apreciate a response on this, it's not like we're only a handfull to be experiencing this issue :/

ASAP! We're talking to all the folks we need to, in order to make sure that we can get the issue diagnosed and fixed as soon as possible. Apologies for the inconvenience, all.

That was the last response from monolith, 17 days ago on the 23rd of July. Nothing I can see since.

An update would be nice. No updates usually means something really good or really bad.

If the fix was coming along I do not see why they wouldn't inform us.

If you’ve opened the Games for Windows Live Ports: Yes, all those ports have been opened. As a side note, I tried using my routers DMZ to bypass all port issues, but that caused me to be unable to sign in to windows live.

Description of problem: After clicking on Team Deathmatch (or any other mode) the matchmaking begins. Usually a group is found in 10-20 seconds. After the lobby is full, the game clock counts down to zero, then the loading screen comes up with the little bat man shooting a gun. After 20-30 seconds on this screen a message reading "Connection Error - Lost connection to server" appears. This happens every time. Any time of day, any day of the week. I have uninstalled and reinstalled game. I have verified cache. I have formatted my hard drive and reinstalled window 7/64 bit. I have forwarded all ports. I have turned off firewall completely. I have connected computer directly to the wall, bypassing a router. EVERY GAME the same error message pops up.

Your expedient reply is appreciated. Lots of folks forked over money and are feeling like they got hosed. Thanks.

*UPDATE* I did some more research for you. I attempted to join 36 games, took around two hours of loading/lobby/matchmaking screens. I was able to play ONE of them that didn't disconnect. On the bright side, that one game was fun as hell. The game is amazing. Please fix it!

Don't pretend you want to help when the problem is YOU not us. You delivered a great game that is online play only and you have terrible, outdated, unreliable online play services. We can all cope with occaisional problems with online play, like other major games. However Gotham City Impostors is the ONLY game that consistently provides a horrible gaming experience.

I just tried for 10 minutes to get into a game. Server connection failed over and over again. Then when I finally get into a game everyone has a red colored ping / connection icon. Then the players drop one by one and then I drop. Either we all have bad connections, or your infrastructure is junk. I think we are clear what the answer is.

Point blank. Why do you keep pointing to the user for connection problems when it is clearly you (or whoever you hired for your multiplayer services) that are dropping the ball on a daily basis?
