    Dawn Patrol vs Gatekeeper

    Which do you prefer?

Id say that these two guns represent the all-purpose weapons on the game, both having great versatility through mods, allowing them to be used effectively at most any range. Each one has its own pros and cons. The Dawn Patrol has better range and more stopping power, it can take down two body-armored mighties with some breathing room, whereas the gatekeeper can only pull that off if your aim is nigh perfect. The gatekeeper spits bullets out faster and has almost no recoil, its smooth, baby, lol. The dawn patrol has major recoil and muzzle flash which can cause some problems, but it does ultimately have better range if you know how to use it. I also think the Dawn patrol has the better Iron Sights.

I used to be all about the gatekeeper, but last promotion i went for dawn patrol gold and I may just be in love, superior range, more stopping power, and once you get past the recoil and muzzle flash, its quite the formidable weapon

Gatekeeper hands down is by far the best. I can easily take down to mighties armored with PA, might have to reload but keep jumping around and dodging and I normally pull it off!
Gatekeeper also by far has the better iron sight imo, dawn patrol is so good with the reflex that the iron sight is pointless, again that is my opinion.

After I read this post I tried the DP with the reflex sight (I hadn't done this before, apparently), and it's really freakin' good. So DP for me and arbitrarily granted rep for you, DREAM_USER.

And I'm always glad when I get a bit closer to creating one of those load-outs that I keep around; the DP finds its place in one of them now.

It's a great gun! If you've got a good trigger finger, might I suggest the Huntsman with reflex ^^

Gatekeeper upclose, Dawn Patrol with Red Dot Sight at mid to long range.

Oh yea, it really is, but when paired with something that has better range, I like to go penetrator ammo, I also love the Dawn Patrol with muzzle break. I like it with reflex whenever I use it as a main gun, when pairing it with a shotgun or maybe even desperado.

Dawn patrol is better. I am wondering, where is this recoil you forumites speak of? The guns in this game have little to no recoil, on accuracy problems at a range, which is honestly too realistic for this game. Either way, the dawn patrol out classes the gatekeeper due to superior damage and superior range.

I have to agree here. I used the GK on my first playthrough. It is a great weapon, especially in mid-to-short range. The thing is, DP has more range, and when it comes down to it, it can pretty much do as well up close as the GK. The DP may have a slower fire rate, but more than makes up for it on the damage end.

I also don't feel the DP has very much recoil, decent iron sights, all the mods work well for it...no real weaknesses, imo.

Btw, Gkor, I shouted you out in the 'best player' thread--and I hate you for the schoolin you handed me this morning. ;P
