I find it funny that some people consider some builds cheap or lame.. when the game is about counters. If I snipe I get accused of camping. If I glide I'm a girly burly noob. If I use NSB I get called lame because they never see me except when I pop out and kill a person. If I go skates w/ body armor I am being cheap for tanking. I even have people cry when, w/ them having the tactical advantage of a high point, I am smart enough to use rockets to AoE kill them. I am also being lame/cheap when I am rehealing on a health/ammo map point and the other team decides to attack me but I don't move off it (duh, it heals me).

Really I think more ppl attempt to ruin the fun for me than me for them. Because no matter how I play I get ppl whining about it. I play the build, not build something random to play.
Hah! I think you're the exception though, and I think the operative word in your post is "skill" - people don't hate on you for your builds, they hate on you because you just constantly beat them into submission.

Sadly, that's only happened to me a couple of times - one of them was for the border-line unfair Burly build that I mentioned earlier, to which I responded by going Nimble and kicking just as much *** as I had as a Burly. Of course, their response was to call me "gay" for using OP weapons (the Gatekeeper, in this case).

Sooo... yeah. Haters are indeed going to hate. But **** 'em, I had fun even if it was at their expense (good players never seem to rage about dying).

I think 'unfun' is a better description than 'cheap' for what I am talking about.

Being followed by, or I imagine following as, a motivator is fun to play as and against. When that same team camps in a hall all game, it turns unfun (for everyone, imo, as I cannot see how camping as a team could be fun). I cannot make myself go there for two main reasons:

    1. The GCI community is small and I want my fellow players to have fun fighting me. It just isn't some random online thing to me. Sort of like driving in a car, people's behavior change, often for the worse. Well, I'm not going to be that person, if I can help it.

    2. I like feeling what I am doing takes some skills. Using my OP as an example, the few times my healthy burly (I've never tried a mighty yet) has enjoyed a motivator, it seems cheap to just sit there, especially against a random team that has no chance. Boooring. A challenge is more fun, any day. By far, the best motivators are the ones who can search with you. I know no one else really cares and I'm only proving anything to myself, but that is enough for me.

I just find it interesting that I even feel this way. Where did it come from? In CoD, I actually used to enjoy making people rage, but in GCI, I hate it. In fact, many of my friends on GCI are from minor arguments in lobbies that turned into respect. That never happened in CoD for me.

I also really goof off when I group up with one of the other top 12 leader board players. Unless we run into some guys that are playing super serious in a party on the other team and talking ****.

Oh and when I play on EU servers.. I'm sorry EU players but the glider is by far the easiest build to play with lag. Normally I change up my build all the time but it isn't as easy on your servers. It still isn't a 100% chance of killing the person, but it does put me on better grounds. The lag is a hard thing to counter with regular weapons. Gotta aim ahead of the person instead of at them, including the dive bomb.

Also I can say the EU players are much nicer on a whole than the US players. Could be that they realize how hard it is to play with lag. I love playing with you guys =) Bad ping or not.

No such thing as an op build, everyone is a one hit kill with a hatchet and for the smaller types spraying a shredder or jackhammer does the job lol

Tbh I think the general community of GCI is older and more mature than the CoD community and on xbox I've only ever spoken to a couple of people on GCI who I didn't get along with

It may sound selfish, but my main priority is that I have fun whilst playing a game. The whole point of gaming for me, is to relieve the stress of work, etc... I don't need gaming to become another "chore".

I don't really enjoy partaking in actions that hinder the fluidity of matches anyway... so if anyone isn't enjoying a game, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be because I'm doing anything wrong or lame.

    Yeah, you care! Lol...

I also game to relieve the stress of the everyday work-a-thon, and it is no chore for me to not play with boring or unfun tactics.

Re: Do you care if your opponents have fun?

I always play to win because I enjoy playing to win, but if my opponents are obviously horrible I'll choose a "mess-around class" instead of my main Motivator class to make things more fair.

If my opponents are good at all I play to win and don't hold back. Even when I destroy people this way, I assume they they're also playing to win and will learn from me, the same way I'm always learning from the people I play.

I'll also try other strong builds I know of to see what it's like to be my opponents, but when there's any kind of pride on the line I Motivate.
