Being accused of using a lag switch

There have been a couple of times I've been in a game on Xbox and I have a 3-bar connection while the remaining players have a 1-bar. I have no idea how that happens or how often it's occurred, but there are at least two instances I can recall. One game, I had a player accuse me of using a lag switch. I told him that I didn't know what caused it but it was really that big of an issue he should have left. He responded by saying that he recorded footage of the game and I believe he has the intention on reporting me for improper tampering. I have no idea how to use a "lag switch" nor do I have any intention of using one if I knew how. Anybody know what might cause this issue and, if push comes to shove, how I can prove that I didn't tamper with anything? Any assistance the community could provide is appreciated. I'm a fan of this game and a regular on Xbox Live, and I would hate to have repercussions fall upon me for something that I have not done.

just you have a bad connection, nothing wron with that. Games like COD force host migration from bad hosts (like you) but GCI doesnt have Host migration

Don't worry about it if you're not doing this on purpose.

Lag switch is still a thing? Man, I used to do that on Maple Story..
Lag spikes can cause people to rage, though.

Thanks for the input. I assumed it was just the fact I don't have a good connection. I never heard anyone getting banned for tampering, but I tend to get paranoid.

Lag switches are soooo "last year."

I hear blaming all of your problems on modded rapid fire controllers is all the rage now.

That is what happens when you get DSL or some other poopy ISP. It's not something that you can do anything about (except pay for better internet), but it's still kinda cheap. If you start a game, and everyone is red-barred but you, you should probably quit. Don't expect other people to quit, they aren't the ones with the problem, you are. If you stay in the game, and get reported, that's your problem.
